ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING  9 September, 2002

 PRESIDENT’S REPORT

We have continued to meet regularly over the seventeen month period since our last annual meeting.

Attendances have varied. We have had approximately fifteen guest speakers all of whom have been interesting and have provided valuable information on life in Lang Lang and district over many years.

We are grateful that LynWealands accepted the position of Secretary and is enthusiastically involved in the job.

We have participated in South Eastern Society activities to a greater extent than in previous years and we hope to be further involved.

We had a display and information site at the Lang Lang Show which was better positioned than previously and attracted interest.

We appreciated the display material loaned by Casey-Cardinia Library thanks to the initiative of Claire Sandell who had continued to provide strong support.

We have had great support from Community Facilitator Belinda Brennan, and recently her reliever Julie Williams.

We must make every effort to make good use of the initiative and assistance which they provide.

At the moment a project is being developed to list and identify sites of interest; thirty eight sites are presently listed.

We believe we will make significant progress when we have a facility to permanently display items of interest.

In the meantime we need the participation of as many people of all ages as possible so that we may develop our potential.

I thank all those who have attended meetings or contributed in any way to put us in a position to record the past and be part of the future growth of Lang Lang.
