Rotaract            KWR-LL Rotaract

Rotaract Club of
Koo Wee Rup / Lang Lang

What is Rotaract?

Rotaract is an organization of young people interested in service & self-development. The organization is sponsored by Rotary as a service club for young men and women aged 18 - 30 years. By the term service, we mean providing assistance or benefit to others. Rotaract is a non-political, non-religous organisation that aims to serve the community through fun and challenging activities.

Whilst we undertake to help others through developing projects, we develop skills of management and organization. Although each Rotaract Club has a sponsor Rotary Club, each club has their own projects & activities.

One of the most exciting aspects of Rotaract is the opportunity to meet new friends and acquaintances in your own locality, across the state and even world wide.

No matter what activity Rotaract members involve themselves in, whether it be working together or at a social event, we always enjoy ourselves and have fun!

Background

The Rotaract Club of Koo Wee Rup / Lang Lang was chartered in 1979 by the Rotary Club of Koo Wee Rup / Lang Lang with who we continue to have a close relationship.

Our Club

We currently have 7 members and meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday nights of each month at the Merinda Park Community Centre on Sladen Street in Cranbourne.

What We Do

We do a lot of work in the community both helping out at various functions and raising money to donate to local charities.

The Koo Wee Rup / Lang Lang Rotaract Club is also a very social club with lots of outings such as going out to dinner, movies, skiing, parties, etc.

Highlights of the Rotaract year this year have included the Annual Ski trip to Mt Bulla and the induction of 2 new members. The club has also participated in a variety of activities including the donation of money to organisations such as DEEBRA, Red Nose Day and the Peninsula Animal Aid Shelter. The tidying up of the local cemetry. The running of a very successful Progressive Dinner/Xmas breakup function. We have had a variety of guest speakers including Max Papley (from the Shire of Cardina), and have toured such organisation as Pentridge and CUB.
