Lang Lang
Community Centre is dedicated to providing a happy, inclusive community space
for learning, gathering and sharing. Drop in check out our many and varied activities. We provide you with education,
creation, stimulation and recreation in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Centre is administered by a volunteer Committee of Management, two paid coordinators, as well as a dedicated and generous team of volunteers. The Committee and coordinator's are responsible for the management of the financial affairs, program planning and policy development for the Community Centre.
Our centre is funded and supported by: Cardinia Shire, Victorian State and Federal Governments.

Men's Shed News
Stage One of the Capital Works Project has been completed.
We wish to acknowledge the financial contributions made by Cardinia Shire Grant, Lang Lang Bendigo Community Bank and Lang Lang Memorial Hall Committee of Management.
Men's Shed gathering will recommence the first Thursday in February from 10 am - 12 noon.

Regular Classes & Activities
Playgroup
Thursday mornings 9:30 - 11:00am at the Centre. The cost is $2 per session per walking child or $15 per family per term. As a member of playgroup you also need to to be a member of the community centre $5 per family per year. This is an inexpensive outings for the little people during the week and they can bring their parents along at no extra cost. Playgroup is for mums, dads, grandparents and caregivers with babies, toddlers and preschoolers. This group will help children to interact, develop and learn new skills as well as have fun in a caring and nurturing environment. The group is very well equipped, lots of toys, a great program with opportunities for excursions and performances. If you would like to be involved in the committee please contact the centre and we will put you in touch with other enthusiastic parents who would appreciate your help.
Hey Dee Ho
Music for tiny tots Wednesday mornings $6 per child. Session time 10.30am it is necessary to book. Activities include musical stories, interactive games and singing, helping to improve cognitive learning, fine and gross motor skills, language, listening skills and imaginative play. This group was set up in conjunction with the Australian Institute of Music and Childhood Development.
Walkers
Walking groups are ideal for people looking for a gentle and safe activity to help improve their health. This activity is a prelude to Strength Training sessions.
Strength Training
Monday 11:30am - 12:15pm, & Thursday 11:30am -12:15pm. Suitable for all ages, especially over 50's. Helps improve bone density, balance, flexibility and helps arthritis and diabetes Cost $2
Strong Sisters Breast Cancer Support Group
Meet the last Wednesday each month at 7.30 pm - New members are very welcome. This group is also coordinates our Annual "Girl's Night In" Fundraiser for Cancer Council of Victoria.
Yoga with Karen
Monday evenings 6pm-7pm. Cost increased to $12.00 per lesson with payment to be made 5 weeks in advance. Enjoy the gentle technique of stretch & deep relaxation, great for all ages. BYO towel or mat. This group will start up in 2009 only if sufficient if are enrolled to cover the cost of our tutor.
Tai Chi for Arthritis Sufferers
Friday mornings from 10 - 11am cost $2.00 This new class is designed for those with Arthritis. Take part in a friendly class where everyone understands the difficulties experienced living with Arthritis, learn new skills to assist you to cope - wear comfy clothing.
Free Book Exchange, Video Hire & Reading Room
Available during office hours -
our shelves are brimming with great books and a selection of videos. This
room is also available if you wish to have a quiet 'cuppa', fill in time
prior to appointments at the Medical Clinic (next door) or just to have some
peaceful reading or quite time.
FREE Internet Access for
Members
We now have fast internet service,
eight
recently upgraded computers, a laser printer and a scanner in our computer room available each
Monday to Friday during our office hours. Access is FREE for registered
Community Centre members; subscription is only $5 per annum per family. You will need to be competent
with computer & internet usage as tuition is not provided - there is no need
to book for this service. Our computers were originally made available with
Victorian State Government and Cardinia Shire Council funding.
Diabetes & Healthy Lifestyles
Support Group
First Thursday monthly
1.00 - 2.30 pm - proudly supported by Koo Wee Rup Regional Health Services.
Diabetes support groups are an excellent way to meet other people with diabetes
and learn from each other. People who attend support groups find the support
important as it helps them be more positive in managing their diabetes – in fact
people who attend support groups have less depression and fewer complications.
Lang Lang Community Singers
This talented group of ladies will welcome new members
with open arms. The group rehearses in the Lang Lang Memorial Hall on Tuesday
afternoons and regularly visit Pakenham and Koo wee rup to perform for residents
of the retirement villages. They also do special appearances at special local

This, That 'n' a Chat
Informal self-help group of enthusiastic and friendly ladies. Bring your own craft;
patchwork, embroidery, knitting, tapestry or appliqué. Enjoy the company of
other crafty people. Meet new friends and share some crafty ideas. New members

Patchwork Corner
A self help group meet 2nd, 4th & 5th Thursday
each month 8-10pm Cost $2 BYO work and share and learn from each others

This is a self-help group welcomes new members who
share the love of quilting. Group meets first Saturday monthly from 10 - 4

Self help group who enjoy spinning wool &
natural yarns. Come and learn how to do it. 2nd Saturday each month from 10am to 2:00pm.

Photocopying, LaserJet Printing, Scanning and
Laminating. Please enquire about the availability and cost of these services. It is
important to book as the staff may not be available to do your special job
immediately.
Room Hire
The main
activity room is is also available for seminars and meetings on various days
and times. We also have a well
appointed office suite available for hire for small meetings. We now
have a Team Board & Projector donated by the Bendigo Bank Foundation this is a
fabulous asset for the
Activity Room. we also have the older style overhead projector for
transparencies and a portable whiteboard. The centre is available as a meeting
place for community at very reasonable rates,

Centrelink Access Point
This service is available to lodge Centrelink forms Monday to Thursday 9:30 to 4:00 and Friday 9:30 to 1:30.
All forms MUST be lodged prior to 4.00 pm Mon-Thurs and 1.30 Friday to allow adequate time for processing payments to Centrelink clients.
Reminder: There is no trained Centrelink staff on duty at this Access Point, however we will make every effort to assist you with your access to Centrelink.
Social Support & Referral Service
We have access to Youth and Family Resource directories and are pleased to help put you in touch with providers of special support services and various agencies. For individuals or families in crisis, those requiring support or counselling, legal services, youth services, those in our community who are disadvantaged and not sure where to turn. Our client's confidentially is respected and guaranteed.
